Client SJ Hitchcock Ltd
Dates Planning submitted January 2017. Appeal dismissed
November 2017, Planning resubmission March 2018 & October 2018 following informal
consultation with the Conservation Officer.
New 3 bedroom infill dwelling in the countryside village of Whepstead.
Despite the
appeal being dismissed the inspector was satisfied that some form of development
could be accommodated on the site without causing harm to the rural or landscape
character.
Hitchcock Architects have re-submitted a scheme which is significantly reduced in scale (one and a half storeys) so as not to compete with the adjacent listed building, and positioned to maintain space separation and open views beyond. The new dwelling will provide much needed family accommodation and is vernacular in style.
